James Reinhardt is the owner and founder of Forward Fabrication, LLC in Seattle Washington. Forward Fabrication is a custom product fabrication shop that manufactures and designs small runs of custom furniture, lighting, handrails and much more. We have made large scale handrails for homes and businesses, lighting for home and restaurants and custom work from signage to custom flaming pyrotechnic art installations.
Born in Boulder, Colorado in 1980. Starting at the age of 8, James entered into a metal working jewelry program designed for adults. It was the spark of a career, but James would hardly know it until 10 years later.
Working as a volunteer at Arcosanti, a future prototype city in rural Arizona, James began working with metal professionally for the first time. James was 19 years old and his boss, a mid twenties party animal with a deep love for Blade Runner, taught him in the in’s and out’s of making railings, metal sculptures and fabrication.
After getting a bachelor’s degree in industrial design from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2004, James returned to Seattle, Wa and found a job building high finish stainless steel racks. This honed skills that would come in handy for the future of his metal working skills.
After spending some time doing music videos, building houses and working with The North Face on heated clothing technology, James started doing business for himself in a small shared studio. Now running a small team of skilled fabricators, James is owner of Forward Fabrication, LLC crafting custom lighting, sculptures, railings, and furniture for private clients, architects, designers and site specific installations.
